Sorry I haven't posted much this month... tons going on (even during the break).
I'm just going to talk today. Nothing special, just what is on my mind.
So Yesterday It was me Birthday, and I'm now 18. Weird stuff. I remember back when I was younger and I wanted to be older, and Now all I want is to be younger. I suppose we all think that anyways though, one way or another.
I'm 18. I have been alive for 18 years on Planet Earth. I am
now legally an Adult. What does that even mean? I still feel, look, and
act exactly the same as I did before. It's weird.
I think I can speak for the majority when I say that we all want to be successful in life. What we want may be different though. What do we define as success? Money? Power? Doing something that you like? Easy work? A challenge? Making a difference? Fighting for your Country... In my opinion, we are all fucking clouded by what we think we want, and what we actually want. School tells us to do good, so we can make a lot of money and do a job that you actually want to do. That is great, and for the most part that is probably the best way to go about things, you know? Not closing any doors for your future.
But what about fighting for your country? What about the soldiers who opted to join the Military and contribute, protecting our freedom? Some soldiers join the military not because they will pay for their education, not because they aren't capable of anything else, not because it's their last resort, because they want to. They feel a certain duty; to serve the many and to protect the freedom of the many, some of them paying the greatest sacrifice. It intrigues me, those who join the military with serious interests in those values... they are heroes. I guess what I'm getting at here is, if the time ever comes where your country needs you, where the people need a hero, would you stand up and fight? I know we would all say that we would, but who would really be willing to make the greatest sacrifice for people who you don't even know? People who you would probably never meet? I'm not saying that I would, I'm just thinking out loud. I'm not ruling it out either though, it's impossible to really say until something like that happens, and if it does I think it really depends on if you really are comfortable with who you are and what you stand for. I guess that applies to everything though doesn't it, and I guess that we all have thought that at some point, one way or another
Today's post is...shorter. The fact is, my mind is in such a mess right now I don't know what to think. I have what you call, writers block right now. I want to say so much and I think I have a lot of great ideas but I can't translate those thoughts into words... you know what I mean? Maybe I will just translate it into song sometime, music speaks volumes, works speak paragraphs.
The song of the day is by Coldplay, the song is called Lost off their album Viva la Vida. Great album, and I think an under appreciated song. Here it is, I hope people actually listen to these
...What is this? A second song of the day? Yuppers, here she is. It's by the Foo Fighters, off their album Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace and the song is called Statues.
Two gems right here, posted for you the faithful viewer :)
Sorry the post was a little bit short again, I hope to conquer this barrier I can't even identify soon enough.
Remember, compliments help cheer people up and can make someones day. So give them as a gift whenever necessary :)
Hey
Welcome back :)
So, I got a lot to talk about... lets see how much typing this will take.
Also, I would like to address my frequent and excessive use of ...
For those who complain about it, its how i write. i have to take frequent pauses and breaks in order to process my thoughts. its like Emily Dickinson with her frequent use of dashes - and such. Nothing made her do that, its just how she wrote and how she thought. so there you go.
onward to me talking to myself!
well like many other blog posts, today's i think is going to be extremely disorganized. Sorry if its a **** to read, and also excuse my language ahead of time.
Well first, I read this quote in this article i was reading that I've seen many times before, and i am sure you, the reader, have also heard of it. its the quote, "If your going through hell, keep going."We, as humans, are constantly adapting to our situations and surroundings. chances are, you're going to look back on that and say, it wasn't too bad, or im proud of myself i was awesome, or i was strong. and it defines you. its a character builder... do things the hard way sometimes. nothing in life comes easy... well i guess some things are but that's more chance than anything. do you think that people become famous athletes because they were born to play that sport? no, its because of hard work and determination and passion and commitment. I bet there were some days where Sidney Crosby wanted to stop playing, or not work out and practice and train... but he did. and look how that paid off... keep going through hell. the prize at the end is worth the sacrifice. its like education... its never appreciated until after the matter. "I hate school"... 50 years later "i wish i would have tried harder in school so i could do what i wanted to do in life". yea school sucks now, but later it will be worth it and the benefits will outweigh the costs. Don't look down, don't look back, can't lose hope, can't lose track. it will all get better, at least that's what they say.
Also, i just saw the movie Act of Valor ... kick ass i recommend it to everyone. very surprising and inspirational... makes me want to fight for my country if the situation ever presented itself. Out of duty and honor, don't get me wrong not because i think it would be fun. i know the military must be hell... but i can't think of many things that are better than fighting for a greater cause and protecting the ones you love. It really surprised the fuck out of me... i went into the theater thinking it was going to be just another war movie.. but it really spoke to me for some reason..
Another thing that really grinds my gears... so to speak... is when people use the word "love" out of context or just throw it around like its meaningless... Love is a very powerful word... it speaks to people. Don't tell someone that you love them if you don't. Don't say that you do if you don't. Don't say it if you don't mean it you ignorant prick.
Also... off that point. Sometimes people really do mean to say something. but don't say it. sometimes... it can make you feel like a fool... and no one knows this more than me. sometimes, love is meant and maybe is the right word to use... but we stray away from it. sometimes, we forget to say to the people we love that we need them, and that we want them there. Nothing hurts more than not saying what you wanted to. Because if you don't say it, you may never be able to. you know what really sucks? When you don't tell your parents that you love them and appreciate everything that they do for you and then you might never be able to say that again....
and also applies for that special someone in your life. if you like someone, tell them how you feel. sure it might hurt, but nothing hurts more than wondering what could have been. no progress is made if no risks are taken. tell them that you need them, tell them that they are the world to you.. oh if i didn't im a fool you see... no one knows this more than me.
Also, why do girls always want what they can't have? (actually, fuck just girls. generally everyone) You know girls, you're wondering where all the great guys are in your life? they are right in front of you, in the friend zone, where you left them out to slowly crisp away in the hot, dry heat of the sun.
same goes for guys.... want a great girlfriend that you really connect with? chances are, you won't need to search far, but yet we still search for societies idea for perfection when we all form our own idea of perfection... every persons being unique. accepting differences, and their benefits complimenting your imperfections, and your benefits complimenting their imperfections.
No one is "perfect". but someone is perfect for you, and you are perfect for someone. gravity, will pull you two together.
I'm pretty pumped... I got accepted to almost every University I applied to so far... including Brock my #1 choice! Just need to keep my marks up, and im in! such a relief. Brock has the best program in Canada for what im doing... so im pretty stoked about that. my program isn't like saving the world or anything... but whatever. do what you love, and what you love, will love you back. if you love what you do, you will be happy. if you love what you do, things have a way of working themselves out. my 2 cents to anyone trying to figure out what they want to do. just do what you love.
and to finish this article.... im going to state this. some of you might not like this.... but im going to say this. once. and. only. once. when i blog, i take what i believe or what i am thinking and i lay it out for you, the reader to interpret it or get some insight or make what you will about it. I know its probably not right, or whatever the fuck you want to say about it. but do NOT say that this blog is a mistake, that what im doing is pointless.. im trying to be bigger than the rumors, the petty name calling the categorization. I cant take this anymore. I enjoy feedback, good or bad. but do not try to direct this blog, don't tell me to stop. tell me what i can do better, because when it comes down to it i will continue to write this blog even if no one is reading it but me, because it brings internal peace in me.... don't tell me that im running on empty, don't try to start a fight with me, because i will be all too glad to accept. I'm taking the high road going about this though, i wont counter attack... just keep talking while i walk away. call me a sinner, call me a saint. call me an idiot, call me a genius. call me Tony, Call me Anthony. all the same to me. I appreciate compliments like everyone else, so don't think that i don't like it when people do compliment me or the blog, because i appreciate it so much. but do the opposite, call me something negative. ill appreciate it as well. don't try to attack me, because i will just turn it into a compliment and get even stronger. Freak? yea that's me, Geek? yup. Nerd? yup. good friend? i try my absolute best. Ignorant fuck? yup, some could say that. idiot? yup, im pretty dumb. smart? yea i have my moments. point is, im comfortable and confident in who i am and what i represent. I can say now that, i think i know myself pretty well. I have my true, awesome, best friends that have stuck by my side, and i have my values and interests that have not changed. I, am Anthony Francesco Mancuso. This is me. And I think that This, is pretty cool.
k....done. wow... what a rant. for those who made it through that... yea. sorry lol.
Today's song of the day is by Pearl Jam, off their recent album Backspacer. now really i could easily recommend the entire album, its a very easy listen, and really soothes the mind. but the song im going to post is Unthought Known.... yea you read that right. caught me off-guard too. really great sounding band and album... highly recommend.
Pearl Jam: "Unthought Known" off their album Backspacer
I hope some of you are listening to these songs... I'm really trying to expand peoples thought and views in music. because I can listen to a lot of different kinds of music, and respect every type. its all about artistic expression, and different bands and groups and singers and composers or whatever, all express themselves in different ways, which i think is pretty awesome. sometimes... i like to listen to songs without lyrics... just sound. music at its core. it really brings me back down to earth. maybe you do too.... who knows.
well... i apologize if you thought this blog was a waste of your time. and for those who liked it, i thank you as well. i thank anyone who even looks at the blog. it shows interest, good or bad. which is good for me.
I hope you all have a great rest of your weekend, and I hope that those who are feeling down, or sick, feel better soon :) You are all great, and remember to compliment people on some things... you know what happened today at work to me? some customer asked me where a product was, and i told him. and he stopped me half way through explaining where and said "you have an amazing voice! seriously!" and it took me completely by surprise... its moments like that... seemingly insignificant moments like that, that's why i live... little compliments like that make my day. so go tell someone something awesome about them!
Hey, welcome back to another episode of Tony's Cold Day in the Sun
... by the way, i don't think i have ever really said why i even chose that name for a title to this blog. well first off, the phrases are perfect opposite. The sun represents warmth, heat, light... yet the cold represents...well being cold and darkness and solitude. quite the contrast, i think its great how it represents so many things in just a couple of words. they completely contradict one another, yet we all know that its happened before... those winter days where the sun is out but the cold will not leave (yeah, remembering those recess days at school now right? god i miss elementary). but besides that, I also think it shows opportunity, how the sun still shines despite conditions presented. it still attempts to provide warmth, light, and keep life alive on the planet.... something we can all learn from. you have to try your best in everything you can, and know your responsibilities... and sometimes, despite the odds, you need to stand up and shine. Having a bad day? make it awesome, or at least try. if you don't try you can never succeed, and the golden words from Mr. Wayne Gretzky, "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take" is all you need sometimes to get something out of nothing. Its also a Foo Fighters song, which is just very unique because their drummer takes the stage and sings this song, while the singer Dave Grohl took on the role of drummer, and played this song. its different, you can almost feel the cold in the song, but at the same time there is this energy... i think its pretty cool. anyways, that is why i chose it, for the above reasons. I thought it was appropriate... but maybe not anymore.
This blog is going under critical review, and a change in style might be happening... everything is in question at this point... I need a new direction, or at least a new take on this blog. I'm currently thinking about how im going to overhaul this blog so that it meets this new style im trying to grasp. So expect these next couple of blog posts to be random at best. Call it a transformation, a transition period.
well, the experiment is complete. for those who don't know, look at the previous posts, some of them are what i call "experiments". you will see if you decide to... anyways for the time being im shelving that idea. i might bring it back, but in good time. for those who did read those, i thank you for the support and time you took out of your day, even if it was just a minute, to read it. I hope you enjoyed them.
also, most of my posts have been more like a rant, not a post. but thats just how I write... and some posts might still be like that. but im going to try to change it up a bit, give the reader more variety than im currently offering. I'm trying to make the best blog experience for both myself in terms of expression, opinion, and freedom of speech; and for the reader in terms of variety. so maybe not for a couple of posts... weeks maybe. but eventually, there will be change.
I want to say more, but im going to keep some info in the dark for now... a lot of ideas are still too rough and too much just in my head to explain. So there's my update. Thank you if you are still reading, and if not, im sorry about wasting your life. go get that 2 minutes back of your life.
There is an.... idea for today though. First off, i would like to apologize for not writing for a while... trust me i have tried.. I have 6 blog posts still in"review" due to their sheer randomness and potential controversy... and they kind of suck. I might post them later, but tonight this is what I have come up with. Second. I would like to claim that I am a selfless bastard. why? If your reading this, you probably know me. I sacrifice my own interests for the interests of others... I try my best to make others happy. but this is because I want to make others feel happy, to make myself feel happy... because I know it will. All the wrong reasons right... well that's me. I'm not a saint that's easy to tell, but guess what you're no angel either. we are all equal, everyone has their flaws. love, is growing to love these flaws and accept them. the best kind of love is the unconditional kind (fuck, that sounds like its from Anderson's religion class or something...). Third. I would like to state that I have the best friends...seriously. Me and my friends have stuck together for years now... some through all of elementary school as well. We all stuck by our values and interests, and were still standing tall, holding the line. Other friends, have drifted away started drinking and smoking and doing drugs... Fourth.... which brings me to a very controversial point... that I don't think some people might want to read. but remember, this is a matter of my opinion being posted in writing. if you have a problem with what I am about to say, come take it up with me in person... I would be happy to oblige. Doing drugs is fucking. stupid. say what you want, but this is my opinion, and I have no lack of respect or loss of likeness in people who do drugs, because the majority are awesome people. But i just think its pointless. same with drinking excessively underage. don't get me wrong, a couple of beers doesn't do anything, and won't hurt anybody, but drinking to much (mostly speaking to underage) is also just pointless in my eyes, and like i said above i have no lack of respect or likeness in people who do this because again, majority of the people who do this are really awesome people... but if you need an external substance to have fun or relieve stress or whatever you might say its good for... go back to your childhood roots. remember back in the day when recess was the best part of the day? when in the summer time, even though there was only 15 minutes for one small recess, people would run out to the field with smiles that could crack open the gates of heaven themselves, and just have fun? Now obviously when you grow up interests change and things.... but you don't need something external to have fun. Me and my friends have the best times just hanging out at lunch at school, or on the weekend playing risk, or on Xbox playing a game. I don't know, just my opinion. The other side of the argument is probably much more valid, but this is my point of view. Fifth. I swear that i was adopted or something... or that i was born in the wrong time period.... i just feel like i don't fit in with many societal norms. Person: "Hey Tony are you going to semi?" Me: "nah" Person: "Why not? its so much fun" me: "id rather just go for a run". Person: ".......... ok :s" (walks away because of socially awkward Tony)
ok... if you have made it this far, you can see that im writing these a little different... and they will continue to become stranger and stranger. but you know what? as stated in one of my previous posts.... fuck it. and im sorry for my language... im just thinking out loud (also stated in one of my previous posts)
Im still going to do a song of the day.... but here is what i am thinking. i might post recordings or videos of me playing the song instead of just putting up the song... or maybe do a video log at the end of each week or something... i have no clue. any ideas or feedback (good or bad feedback, i love it all) would be greatly appreciated.
But today's song of the day is by 30 Seconds to Mars. don't like them? I like them, so yea.... The song im going to share with all of you wonderful people who are reading this blog is... a couple of songs. its hard to get a hold of this bands sound sometimes. so im going to post a couple of songs that I listen to a lot... I hope you all like them:)
30 Seconds to Mars: "Anarchy in Tokyo" off their album B- Sides and Rarities
30 Seconds to Mars: "A Beautiful Lie" off their album A Beautiful Lie (HIGHLY RECOMMEND ENTIRE ALBUM :) )
30 Seconds to Mars: "Echelon" off their self- titled album 30 Seconds to Mars
Well... thats it. Thank you all... and remember.. compliments are pretty cool to give to people.
see you all next time... well maybe not everyone who reads this. but maybe there will be some people who read the next one, and maybe some people who have read the ones before this, maybe even the few people who initially read the experiments.
so since exams are coming up, im shutting down the blog... for now. i will post something once they are done for sure, but for now i need to focus on school and though i might have things to say, this is secondary to school.
I miiiight post some "Experiments" however, depending on what i come up with. so stay tuned and thank you all
by the way, good luck to anyone writing exams and doing final projects and tests in the coming weeks. we are all going to need it
my mind is a tangled mess right now, so bear with me if im jumping from topic to topic or whatever.
so im going to start off by saying something that I realized last night at work. Self Esteem starts off low, and it is raised by earning it. incredible, after all of these years of me thinking what is wrong with me, why am i like this, i finally realize that, the reason i don't feel good about myself is because i haven't done much to make myself feel good. those moments of confidence and me feeling good about myself, was like caffeine, it wore off. and I know why now, it wasn't something I could truly feel good about for a long period of time. scored the winning goal in soccer? who cares. when I helped an injured player to the bench, that matters. studying hard for a test and getting a good grade? awesome, but its only one test. how about the other 7 tests for that one class? to feel good, you really need to accomplish something sentimental, something with more value than what it portrays. something that will last, and will take much more to break down than a simple accomplishment. just something to think about... at least now i know the problem; the solution comes next, whenever that may be.
Here's a problem, why do schools always cram in so much work during the last couple weeks of school? can't teachers better plan this out? I mean, my biology teacher, he planned it out in such a way that our last test until exams are on the last week, but thats it. no more than that, this last test is all we need to worry about until exams. that is smart. what isn't smart is having a test and a project due in the same week, especially since, there are plenty of weeks where nothing is even due. so heres my proposal, teachers must submit a plan and follow it to the best of their abilities, a schedule if you will, that will make it easier on the students, because almost everyone i know has like 4 summatives in this last week, which is just dumb. or atleast, give students a schedule for when everything in the semester is due, so we can better plan this out. we are left scrambling, and our work will most likely be impacted.
I dont even know how im going to keep my marks at 80s. especially English, its ridiculous. so much work, like we have an in class essay next week on Hamlet, and we won't have any idea what we are writing on until monday, then we write on tuesday, and shes keeping out work on monday so we can't work on it monday night(even though im working, so it wouldn't make much of a difference). to me, shes hanging us out to dry. what if the topics she gives us, are my weakest ones? what if i can't find textual evidence fast enough? i dont know, if she gave us a little bit more to work with beforehand, it would have been much easier. And then things get scary, even if i do keep up my marks... what the hell is University going to be like? im kind of pulling out my hair just thinking about that. oh well, the best thing to do is to just focus on what is directly in front of you, and don't think about the future until everything is out of the way... it clutters the mind way to much.
So the other day, i was watching this Alaska documentary, beautiful place. I always wanted to visit Alaska, everything is so much less industrial up there, a much more peaceful way of living. but this documentary really disturbed me at one part... where they were showing the townsfolk catching, and slaughtering a whale as part of tradition...it was one of the most intense things i ever had to see... i could almost feel the agony that the whale was thinking...you know? i had that feeling in my gut that something was wrong with that... i mean, who does this? they say its tradition, but do they not know how many whales are left in the world? not many, at all, and they were just slaughtering it as tradition, and when they dragged it onto shore, the kids started climbing over it, and the adults started butchering it and cooking whale, and.. it was all just so wrong in my eyes.
i could go on forever about what im thinking about, but i think this is already long enough... and random enough. sorry if this wasn't my best post. theres too much in my brain if you know what i mean, way to many thoughts to say everything im trying to say.
So todays song of the day will be "Injection" by Rise Against, off their album The Sufferer and the Witness. They are a great band, and i highly recommend them to anyone.
Rise Against's "Injection" off their album The Sufferer and the Witness
I hope everyone has a great day, and remember to compliment someone for something, help build some esteem right?
I am tired beyond belief. it seems like every blink lasts a second longer. im typing like a turtle (haha) right now, but i have something to say, and that is what my blog is about. just me having something to say.
so today, im talking about transitions, mainly school, but other things as well. im just curious as to how we, as teenagers, actually transition to teenagers from children, or from teenagers to University students and adults. how the hell does that work? well for you i have a little analogy. life, is like a new printer. at first, everything is apples. everythings good, just like the first part of life, where the biggest problem a kid might have is what toy to play with(in modern society ofcourse, this obviously excludes third world countries and poor families. this is more about the average joe, not specifics). you might need to refill ink and paper, but everything at first seems so simple, so easy, everythings working. Then, the printer starts to jam. paper gets stuck, ink won't go into the printer anymore, text prints in different colors, some features may not work anymore. this, is highschool. teenagers. all of a sudden, it becomes a struggle to be happy, something that before was easy as pie. and if you cant tell by my writing (apples, pie) i really want apple pie. anyways, you have to work out the kinks, and everything seems much harder. simple tasks become time consuming. you know you need to do well, but when your life, the printer keeps on jamming and not working properly it becomes a struggle. so you finally decide to fix your printer, or get a new one. and after education, everything becomes gravy once again. life is a process, a routine that is completed every day, just like the printer needs ink and paper to work, life needs fuel and resources, our education and our friends. i have began to realize that life, isnt as linear as I once thought. I now believe that like life, dreams, and death, the sequence of life, isn't always linear. sometimes, one must die before they can live. I believe that we all shut down, and turn back on later in life. i believe that we dream, die, then live. and once we die, i believe that this isn't death, honestly i don't know what it is, but for me, my perspective is that we die before we live. we have to question our roots, our very structure on which we were built on. now i know this probably sounds like a lot of bull to a lot of people... they are probably thinking.. Tony, are you high? what did you smoke today? well, i hate drugs with a passion, so no, i never will do that. this all makes sense in my head, and its hard to write it down, you know? it happens to everyone, you know what your trying to say, but you can't say it. i tried the best i could. just remember, hold on, the weight of the world will give you the strength to go.
Which brings us to the song of the day
The last line i wrote, "hold on, the weight of the world will give you the strength to go" is off the song of the day, Linkin Park's "Robot Boy" off their most recent album A Thousand Suns. I cannot emphasize enough how much i Love this band, and everything they have made and done. easily, my favourite band of all time, they have been since their debut Album Hybrid Theory, that was 11 years ago. Every single album they have made, i have loved. 11 out of 10 for me. its like every song they make is just for me or something, i dont know, but it is sentimental for me. something really special. They continue to innovate, and for that I thank them for going off the path and doing something unique. This song is incredible, in fact, i wake up to it every morning, and listen to it before i go to sleep every night. give it a listen, you might find yourself inspired.
Linkin Park's "Robot Boy" off their 2010 album A Thousand Suns
I would like to thank all of those who read my blog, its amazing to know that people are actually looking at it. I thank each and every one of you, from the bottom of my heart. Remember to compliment someone, you can make someones day by telling them that they kick ass. you can turn a mood from bad to good, from sad to happy. so i encourage you to do this, not only for yourself, because making others happy makes yourself happy, but it can make someones day. a little bit of kindness goes a long way.
so we will start with our school systems. school puts an immense amount of
pressure on the students. You need to get into University to get a good job!
College is for the people who can't get into University! You need an 80 which
is an ABOVE AVERAGE by provincial terms to get into University and get out with
and AVERAGE paying job. to me, its all a load of horseshit. as are these errors
that keep popping up as im typing : | anyways, so to me College in this day and
age is for more practical jobs, which Canada is actually short on. Chances are,
if you go to college, you will find work easier than University. Want to know
how many teaching jobs there are right now? very few, because people like some
teachers at my school teach until they are 80 and block more qualified and
exciting teachers who deserve that job more than they do anymore, are clogging
the teaching jobs. And that brings me to another random point... Cloggers. you
know what im talking about. those idiots who clog the hallways, stand right in
the middle and talk with a friend, walk on the wrong side of the hallway, walk
right into you, text while walking and run into people, have no regard as to if
they are in the way or not... seriously people just get on the right side,
move, and when you get to your destination you can stop. you cant walk across a
highway and expect not to get hit during rush hour, just like you can't walk
across a hallway and expect not to get in the way. so move. please.
k back to pressure, so in North America and Asia they put alot of pressure on
school and education. The difference is, in Asia, the kids there are actually
concerned about their education. they care. we dont. why? i dont know, because
they know that their parents are paying a shit ton of money to send them to
school and if they fail they are screwed. they know that education is not
appreciated until after the fact, they know that it is the key to your future.
dont know physics and math? guess what, your not going to become an astronaut
like you always wanted. they want to achieve these dreams, and it is more relevant
to them there, than here. What i find really cool is that in Norway, or Sweden,
or some country in Northern Europe, i actually think its multiple countries,
the kids there actually have less homework, but their marks are 50% better.
why? better teachers, which brings me back to the issue of teachers retiring
and opening the field. Guess what Mr or Mrs shitprick, your 75 years old and
your time is done. im sorry, but you have had your time to educate the youth of
tomorrow, now its time for someone more qualified, like you were back in your
day, to teach.
K well thats my rant.
so the song of the day today will be a live performance by Linkin Park on their
tour Road to Revolution. They performed "Pushing me Away" which is
off their debut album Hybrid Theory. This whole live album is incredible, i
cannot wait for their thousand suns cd tour to come out. I highly recommend it,
Linkin Park puts so much effort and emotion into their music, and this is
clearly evident in this. the song Pushing Me Away is usually faster paced, but
Linkin Park slows it down for this live performance, and turns it into a
ballad. it shows Linkin Parks incredible diversity and adaptability, they do
this with many songs and each time they play any song its a little bit different,
which i really appreciate. Here is the Link, i love this song I cant say it
enough
so that is all for today, and goodnight all. remember to compliment people, it
helps. more than you could ever know. trust me.
Good news everyone! due to people not talking to other people because they don't know them the shy stay shy! this really makes me mad. me, being shy myself, have a hard enough time even looking at people i don't know yet alone talking to them!(especially girls) so what my blog is about today, is about people who aren't shy, need to talk to people who are.
So here's an analogy for you... say your making scrambled eggs. you get the eggs out of the fridge, but instead of cracking them and cooking them, you simply just place it on the counter, and leave it there. so your eggs don't get cooked and you can't eat. this, is easily comparable to shy kids. you have a shy kid in your class, you sit beside them and you rarely talk to them because you think they are awkward. if you never crack open the egg, it wont be scrambled will it? if you never talk to a shy kid, they won't talk back will they? fucking logic people... just think about how difficult it must be for some people(including me) to openly talk to people in public they don't know. its nearly impossible. you know, people have always told me that i need to break out of my shell, and rightfully so they are correct 100%. but say im that egg on the counter. if nothing else helps me, im just going to sit there and rot until someone throws me out. you wonder why kids are committing suicide nowadays...they have nothing to connect with, they have no one there to help them break out of their shell and truly be all they can be. so they theoretically sit there and rot, and finally, are thrown out. its depressing, i know. but people these days (especially the more popular kids) need to crack some eggs(theoretically). they don't have to fully crack the egg. but they just need to help, make the first move.... you know? you think they are awkward...but in reality most are just scared out of their minds and don't know what to say, or what you think of them, or what will happen next... their low self esteem plummets further if you do nothing.
todays blog is short, but this is what is on my mind today. tomorrow, im going to talk about the slogan i have for this blog...the difference between love and madness is but a shade of grey.
Todays song of the day is by Rise Against. ive done a song by them already, but they are a great band in my opinion, tons of passion in their work. the song is called "Survive" and is off the album "The Sufferer & The Witness" Ive been listening to this song a lot after i bought their album last week, and hearing this song many years brings back a bit of nostalgia. anyways here it is
Rise Against "Survive" off the album "The Sufferer & The Witness"
Well thats all for now, ill cya later. remember to compliment someone !
So today is a pretty simple question... Do you believe that high school is the best years of our lives?
in my opinion, no. and for good reasons.
coming from my experience, high school has too many people pushing you in too many directions. what do you want to be? what university are you going to? blah blah blah... and the pressure is enormous in grade 12... this is where we make it or break it. also, theres way to much drama. whether it comes from friends, from relationships, from parents, teachers... everything seems to build drama. lastly, i believe that high school is a transition period from adolescence to adulthood. when your in high school, i think everyone thinks that they know more than they actually do. like they are some sort of prophet that knows all( theoretically speaking) and this cannot be true because when your in highschool, you have only been alive for less than 20 years... thats not nearly enough time or experience to know all. when one is an adult, they have lived long enough and have truly figured themselves out, they know who they are, they know where theyre going, and they learn to deal with their past maturely.
This is why I say, that Elementary School is the best years of our lives. there isnt too much drama, you know everyone because the schools are generally smaller, and you only have one teacher for the entire year with the same 30 classmates... so you get to know people more. everyone is more tightly knit. also, recess is another big reason for me, able to just take a 15 minute or 45 minute lunch break was the best thing to take a break from schoolwork and just have fun with your friends... lastly, elementary school for me anyways was a time to just have fun.. i didnt care what i was going to be, i didnt care if some bitch called me something i didnt like... i just cared about my friends, and i just wanted to have fun. and i did. i had alot of fun. im always going to miss elementary school dearly... high school (dont get me wrong im sure when im older i will miss it too) wasnt a great experience for me personally anyways...
so what do you think?
Ok so today's song of the day is "Coming Undone" by Korn, a band Ive really grown to love and respect over the past few months(thanks to some friends). there are much better songs by Korn, but this one is still good... better than most actually. so here it is
again, i encourage people to compliment someone on something atleast once a day... it makes a huge difference and its a great way to make people feel better, to build their esteem and to make you feel good. who knows, you might get some compliments back for saying them!
Anyways, thats all for now. I got an english essay to revise after my english teacher ripped it apart.. though i think once the changes are made it will be 80%+ material (well lets hope so anyways)
Ciao, thank you for reading :)
