Jesus Christ, its been a while. I'm really sorry about not blogging for a while, to tell you the truth I really didn't have much motivation to blog. The only things that were on my mind were English, Biology and Skyrim. (plus music, as it is a constant presence) But now that I am free tonight, and something has come to mind, here is a blog:)
So today's blog is about make-up. Guys if you wear it, i won't judge but im generally talking about girls in this blog regarding make-up. Why the hell do you wear it? To me if you wear make-up your hiding who you really are, what you really look like and it's almost like a barrier to me. I understand you want to cover up blemishes or imperfections.. but imperfections make us human. im covered in zits on my cheeks and forehead... I myself use Pro Active and have been trying to clear them up. though this is somewhat hypocritical, I have never used actual cover up, though I knew i could and no one would be the wiser. I guess this also applies to people dying their hair colour. leave it the way it is! you didn't have control over what colour it was going to be when you were born, and I believe its what makes us who we are. Your Ginger? don't fucking dye your hair. to me that's even worse. Hair not blonde enough? Leave it the way it is! style it however you like, though I am also against people taking too much time doing their hair as well. if you really care about how nice you look ( I understand for like special events and stuff like that, work ect) on a day to day basis where you actually have to take time out of your day to make your hair look the way it does... I don't know. to me its just pointless. and is also a reason why I keep my head shaved. Not only do i not have to worry about what my hair looks like, Everyone can see my Blonde Birthmark on the side of my brown hair (which i think is pretty cool). anyways what i am trying to get at here is, don't be someone your not. truth be told, if you stay true to yourself there is bound to be someone out there who likes you for that. and also, staying true to yourself earns my respect. Not giving a fuck these days about certain things actually is challenging... doesn't make much sense does it? We all want to be our best, and sometimes people bring image into that. Sometimes being your best means being yourself, not trying to be the best. Think Gretzky tried to be Gretzky? no he just played hockey... and happened to be the best. same with Michael Jordan. he didn't wake up one day and decide to be the best basketball player... he just played the game and in the end tried to win games. So be your best, not someone elses. that's what I am really trying to say. Girls, do not wear make-up. Think your ugly? I bet your not. putting on makeup gives people(me anyways) the impression that you think you need makeup.. when truly I don't care about that.. and I bet a lot of other guys don't either. I just want you to be you. dying your hair a different colour... why? Just leave it the colour you were born with, its a part of you.

hey welcome back :) sorry i won't be doing my post about love and madness today, i have a lot of work and its going to take a while to write that one so, i will be posting that one on saturday. as for today and friday, i will still post blogs but not about that particular topic. todays topic since i have little time to spare will just be a little list about me, and what i like and stuff like that.
So im 17 years old, and i have been playing soccer since i was 6... so thats like, 11 years now :D Also, i have been playing guitar (casually mind you) since i was 8... so almost 10 years of that :)
I did Karate from when i was 8 to when i was 13.. and achieved brown belt (2nd highest belt, behind black) and won many tournaments, or got 2nd place. i quit because my sensei really wasn't teaching me much anymore. it was a great experience though, and really kept me in peak physical condition along with soccer. speaking of soccer, i have won 5 Most Valuable Player Trophies, and many other first and second place trophies. A lot of these are from select.
I also played on the gr.8 basketball team and we ended up winning it all:) I wasn't nearly as good as the other guys on my team, but coach said i was good for keeping the ball in their end, getting in the other teams face and playing defense... so i guess that's why they kept me around :P
My goal for careers in my future, is to work in the sports industry..particularly sports management. whether that would be an agent for a NHL player, or even my ultimate goal of becoming a General Manager (woo!). honestly, as long as i am doing something with sports im going to be happy. my backup is being a personal trainer, as fitness is a big part of my life, and i want it to be a big part of other peoples lives as well.
Music is a huge part of my life. my favourite band of all time, and this is also the band i would consider to be "my band" because im the only person i know who really likes them, is Linkin Park. Ive been a LP faithful since 2000, and love everything they put out. In my opinion, they are one of the few great bands of the new generation. Some other groups i like are Killswitch Engage, Foo Fighers, Shinedown, Rise Against, Korn, Disturbed, Guns and Roses, Metallica, KISS, Journey, Billy Talent, Bullet for my Valentine, Avenged Sevenfold, ACDC, Nirvana... the list goes on.
I don't really like talking about myself though, especially to people i don't know. People can say things and though they are true, it doesn't mean you truly know that person now. its not like you can come up to me, thinking were friends because we both like Linkin Park... though that would definitely be a great common interest. To me, you really have to spend time with a person, dig deep. find out who they really are deep down inside. through this blog, you may get to know me a little bit more. but unless you actually come up and talk to me, and take the time to get to know me and become friends with me(im very friendly)... don't ridicule me, don't judge me, don't think you know me. YOU DON'T KNOW ME MAN!!! haha sounds so cliche, but you know what im getting at here. the fact is, talking about yourself highly like i kind of just did throughout this blog, gives the impression that your confident, and you think your awesome. that or you are looking for some compliments or a response in general. However, I myself, do not think highly of myself at all. you could even say my self esteem sucks...a lot. this blogs purpose is just for some background knowledge of me and though it is not much... somethings better than nothing right? like, i can barely talk to girls...ever. what does that say about me? exactly... pathetic am i right?
well that's all for today, sorry because it's not the most interesting blog ever, but i was going to do something like this eventually, and since it doesn't take much time, and i don't have much time today, i felt that the timing was right.

Good news everyone! due to people not talking to other people because they don't know them the shy stay shy! this really makes me mad. me, being shy myself, have a hard enough time even looking at people i don't know yet alone talking to them!(especially girls) so what my blog is about today, is about people who aren't shy, need to talk to people who are.
So here's an analogy for you... say your making scrambled eggs. you get the eggs out of the fridge, but instead of cracking them and cooking them, you simply just place it on the counter, and leave it there. so your eggs don't get cooked and you can't eat. this, is easily comparable to shy kids. you have a shy kid in your class, you sit beside them and you rarely talk to them because you think they are awkward. if you never crack open the egg, it wont be scrambled will it? if you never talk to a shy kid, they won't talk back will they? fucking logic people... just think about how difficult it must be for some people(including me) to openly talk to people in public they don't know. its nearly impossible. you know, people have always told me that i need to break out of my shell, and rightfully so they are correct 100%. but say im that egg on the counter. if nothing else helps me, im just going to sit there and rot until someone throws me out. you wonder why kids are committing suicide nowadays...they have nothing to connect with, they have no one there to help them break out of their shell and truly be all they can be. so they theoretically sit there and rot, and finally, are thrown out. its depressing, i know. but people these days (especially the more popular kids) need to crack some eggs(theoretically). they don't have to fully crack the egg. but they just need to help, make the first move.... you know? you think they are awkward...but in reality most are just scared out of their minds and don't know what to say, or what you think of them, or what will happen next... their low self esteem plummets further if you do nothing.

Welcome back! as promised, todays post is about this years NHL season and what my predictions are and expectations
So to start off, i would like to say that my favourite team is the Pittsburgh Penguins, and no my favourite player isn't Crosby. as awesome as he is, my favourite players are Jordan Staal, Kris Letang, and Evgeni Malkin.
Eastern Conference Notables:
Crosby's Return:
So It is clear that without Crosby, Pittsburgh is going to have a much harder time winning the cup. though as we proved last year, with Crosby, Staal, and Malkin our 3 best players being out for half a season each.. we still posted 106 points and only were out winned by Vancouver. we proved that we are a strong team without our best players, it showed our true depth, determination and strength. now this season with Jordan Staal poised for a big year, Malkin *if he stays healthy* poised for a 100 point season, and Crosby*when he returns* hopefully will start where he left off last year, running away with the scoring lead of 60+ points in just a bit over 40 games; if all of this proves to be true, we have a fantastic shot at winning the cup.
Now that being said, i don't believe that all of this is going to happen. I think that Pittsburgh will have a strong regular season, and possibly advance to the conference finals if they are lucky assuming that the factors above do not all occur.
Toronto Making the playoffs:
This year, i believe that the Leafs have all of the tools to make the playoffs for the first time since 2004. Kessel should have a strong year with goals in the high 30's, Grabovski (the best player on that team IMO) is poised to have another great year, and Toronto's defensive core is very strong. The only factor that should affect them making the playoffs is goaltending. They are relying on James Reimer, who played very well at the end of last season during Toronto's playoff push. If Optimus Reim(His nicknames are the best btw) can play like he did last season, Toronto should be able to squeak in the playoffs in the 8th, possibly 7th spot.
Winnipeg Jets:
The Atlanta Thrashers were bought out at the end of last season and they moved back to Winnipeg and brought back the Jets! as awesome as this is, they are still the same team as last year. they are still the Thrashers. Though they have a very promising youth as their team is very young, this season i do not expect much from the Jets. I would be happily surprised if they made the playoffs, but i expect them to come somewhere between 10th and 12th in the Eastern.
Washington Capitals:
Ok Washington, you should have won the cup last year, or the year before. you have been the best team in the Eastern Conference and the league for many years now. Ovechkin could basically win a cup by himself. lets go Washington.

Western Conference Notables:
I would like to start off by saying, Vancouver should have won the cup last year. and this year since they are basically the same team, need to make it to the finals and win the cup that they deserve. Also i would like to say that the Western Conference is much more competitive in the standings than the Eastern Conference. almost every team in the Western Conference are playoff quality(exceptions Edmonton)
Vancouver Canucks:
Vancouver really should have won the cup last year. They were the perfect team... outstanding forwards, strong defensive core, and superb goaltending. they almost did it, but game 7 was a disaster. since they are basically the same team, Vancouver needs to win the cup this year, or I fear that their days might be numbered before they have to repeat the rebuilding process again.
Detroit Redwings:
This Old Fart of a team... as much as i hate to say it, are still good even at their old age. Lidstrom is arguably the best defense and most complete defense in the league. Their forwards are old, but still very talented. and Jimmy Howard.... one of my least favourite players in the game... is good. Detroit should have a good run in the season and in the playoffs
LA Kings:
The Kings this year have improved drastically, with the addition of Mike Richards. Anze Kopitar is in for a HUGE year, and defense Drew Doughty is also primed for a strong year. this team has all the tools to challenge for the Stanley Cup
San Jose Sharks:
The Sharks Ditched Heatly and Setigouchi and picked up Havlat and Burns. was this a good move? yes. the Sharks have been playing at the top of the Western Conference Standings for years now, and this year might finally be the year they have the tools to be pushed over the top and Win the Cup. They have strong goaltending in Stanley Cup winning goalie Anti Niemi, an extremely talented forward group and with the addition of Brent Burns, a solid defensive core.

Welcome back! sorry i haven't posted anything in a while, I have been busy with work the past couple of days, i haven't had the time.
today's post is going to be about people and how they change. I find that things happen, and people change. but sometimes this is taken to the extreme and people who you have known and been friends with your entire life change dramatically throughout the years, and its almost like you don't even know them anymore. I know that change is a part of life, but people forget their roots sometimes... this is where the problem lies. they change in order to impress someone or to fit in or whatever the reason may be, not just time which changes people normally.
To me, people need to remember who they are, and what their values are. for example... you like the maple leafs, but you change your team because they don't do well. what the fuck people. just stay with your team, your values. who cares if they aren't incredible at that particular moment in time(though i have high hopes for the leafs this season...cmon 8th place!). just stick with what you love, say what you want to say. don't be influenced by the idiots out there who change everyone. just be who you are. if you change, that's fine but don't let other people change you. I understand that change can be good as well, but like i said earlier people need to stick to their roots and remember who they are.
A great example of this right here is League of Legends. why does everyone play this? i understand that people think its fun, but there's other games out there. why does everyone play it? because everyone else plays it. its become somewhat of a social network when you think about it. i hear people talking about it day in and day out, and it's like they are speaking a different language. I think that people don't just play the game because its fun, they play it because they want to fit in and play it because everyone else is. just do whatever the fuck you want people! you want to play World of Warcraft? go for it. want to play league of legends(because its fun, not because everyone else does) that's fine too. Want to play guitar? FUCK YA! what im trying to get at here, is do what you want to do, don't let others influence you, and stick to your roots. Remember who you are.

Work and School will get in the way and im sorry but im not going to abandon this blog. i dont care if people read it or not, this blog is more for me than anyone else(don't get me wrong, i truly appreciate if people do read it). its a place where i can just....talk. Hello again everyone! while the last few posts have been very long, im going to keep this post short because...well there isn't much on my mind. im feeling much much better than yesterday and the days before that, but im also extremely tired and i got homework to do. so here it goes
Today i want to talk about voting... for anything really. more specifically, you know, prime minister, president, governor, mayor... political people. Nobody votes anymore... why? do you honestly not care who will be running your city? who will be running your entire fucking country? I think people need to be more aware of the power these people hold in their lives. They are the ones who need to kick the theoretical economy donkeys ass and get it started. they are the ones who are going to be creating jobs for you, or your kids, or your grand kids. decisions they make now might not affect you directly, but they may possibly affect your kids or your grand kids. I dont know about you people, but i want my kids and my grand kids (if i ever have any) to have a good, healthy life where they don't need to worry about putting food on the table. I can't even imagine what that must be like. so people, all im asking really is to pay more attention to your elections, actually research stuff(don't believe commercials) and vote for the party that will benefit you and your family the most. And dont be afraid to change parties.... dont be like, oh im liberal and i always have been. thats great, but values change and so do leaders. pick the group that benefits you.
kind of a random blog, but its what came to mind during my drive home from eating wings (SCORE) and i saw election signs a plenty. one sign was orange and blue which caught my eye (look for that, its a trick people use because the contrast between orange and blue on the same thing appeals to the human eye)
anyways, sorry if today's blog was somewhat boring... but to be honest today felt like Friday and its only Wednesday... so im pretty pissed :P and i work tomorrow and Friday as well, so the next two days are going to be awesome....

Welcome. glad people are still reading my blog :) the people who are, your awesome. the people who aren't, your pretty cool too. anyways, im feeling a bit better compared to the last two days, though im extremely tired because i can't sleep. whether it's nightmares, me waking up because im throwing up, or just because i have to blow my nose every 5 seconds at night, im not getting nearly enough sleep. im hoping this is going to change tonight, though if need be i have a first period spare so i can take an extra hour or so to sleep in, which is incredible!
todays topic, is just going to be me asking you guys what you think of music. now to me, music is something that can always relate to my emotions. even if its a song like "Turn your Back" by Billy Talent (I will link, not song of the day!) or "This I Love" by Guns and Roses (will link, not song of the day!) which have two completely different moods, tones, and lyrics, they both can seem to get me out of a slump, or just simply understand me you know? music is always there for someone, in bad times and in good times. and to me, its the ultimate form of expression and pure, raw emotion... which is a problem with many modern artists (mainly hip-hop rap kinda stuff, or Justin Beiber, or some autotuned punk) because music at its core is an expression of true emotions and energy... while these artists(whom i am not ridiculing dont get me wrong, i have respect for every one of these artists and any like them, and i respect and understand if people do like them) have seemed to stray away from that ultimate purpose.
One album, A Thousand Suns by Linkin Park( im not going to link the entire album, just an info link, as a song from that album may well be a song of the day one day) is absolutely dripping with emotion, with each song having such emotion and raw energy and lyrics put into them. i highly recommend this album, because to me anyways, this is what music is about. Linkin Park ripped their band apart, and tried something new. and the product which is A Thousand Suns is (to me anyways) something the music industry today should try and learn from. DO WHAT YOU WANT TO DO! TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT! who gives a flying fuck if people ridicule it? as long as you put forth all of your effort and truly made the album the best it could be, and as unique and raw and emotional and meaningful as possible, with energy in each song represented even in slower songs... you did your job as an "ARTIST"! i think that term is being stretched every day now.
anyways, what does music mean and represent to you? what do you think of modern artists? what do you think music should represent? i want people to think about those questions.
now back to the original question somewhat. i was going to mention that every person has "their" band or artist if you know what i mean. that one band or artist that is your favorite, that their music is always there for you and you truly have a deep and meaningful connection with their music. I believe that that concept is being ripped apart at the seams these days, as people will listen to only certain songs by an artist, and then they will just move on to another... when compared to say the 80's, 90's. fuck, even early 2000's when people were passionate about their bands. im not saying that everyone is this way, because i know im not, and i know many of my friends arent either, but im saying generally with the mainstream music anyways. no one is like my favourite rapper is Jay Z anymore... hes old news. now its all Kanye West or something i dont even know. to me thats wrong. me and my friends? we STILL listen to the golden age of music, like Zeppelin, KISS, Metallica and many more. and their fan bases are much stronger and more concrete than any modern artists fan base. they have sticked with this band for decades now... DECADES! while kids these days stick with a song from an artist for a month or so, then move on. doesn't that sound... a bit fake to you? like they are just going with what everyone else likes? if they truly liked that artist, they would have sticked with them.
I want to ask people, what is "your" band or artist? for me, it is Linkin Park. Ive been listening to them since they debuted their first album Hybrid Theory, and ive been with them every step of the way since. their music is always welcoming, it always understands me, and it is always raw, pure, and unique to the band. in my mind, i don't see any other artist ever topping them for me.
ok so now that my little rant is over, im going to post the links as i said i would above, and im going to reveal my song of the day, which comes from the band Bullet for my Valentine, off their debut album The Poison. First off, i would like to say that I really like this band, they are huge (like really popular) over in Europe, and i want them to get some recognition over here in North America. I really like their sound, and i think you good people will as well :) I highly recommend buying any of their 3 Albums, especially The Poison, their best in my opinion. anyways, here's one of the lighter songs off Bullet For my Valentine's -The Poison. Welcome back people. Today's going to be a bit more laid back, im not feeling to great ( I got really sick last night) and i just want to relax and feel better. so im just going to ask a simple question
for the question, im am going to ask if you date people based on what you hear of them, or how they look, or what they do. Now i know that this question is very broad, and I know almost everyone will say that they date people for "Who they are" but i find this to be the furthest from the truth a lot of the times. when people initially start dating anyways, or when people are like "would you date him/her" and you respond a certain way.
I know people say they date people for who they are, or they judge them for who they are, but i know this isn't completely true. ask yourself this, why do popular kids only date popular kids ?( I know there are exceptions but its the concept) and why do outcasts date other outcasts? is it because of who they are? or is it because of image and what everyone else thinks of them... i find the latter to be more true.
Heres a hypothetical situation, say there is this beautiful blonde popular girl (generic) and she could be looking for a guy who is really nice and always there for her and stuff. now she goes and dates this other popular, better looking guy who gets drunk all the time, doesn't do well in school, isn't very thoughtful or caring.. and lets be honest... really only wants to get in her pants. why would ANYONE date anyone like that? ok now lets take that same beautiful girl and say she meets this less popular, average joe. he doesn't look as good, and a lot of people don't know him very well except for his close group of friends. she always pictured this guy to be awkward. now she starts talking to him one day, and finds out that hes really funny, smart , caring, everything she wants. but what are the odds of a beautiful popular girl dating a guy like that? who's image isn't nearly as complete as the guy before? very. very slim. this is what is wrong with society, and there isn't much we can do to change it unfortunately. there will always be the less popular, not as good looking people who are denied opportunities because of their image.
Its truly not fair.
actually, we were reading an essay today in english class that related to this. it was about how at this university this football team won the championship (again) and they received an incredible amount of praise and honors. while there was 3 other teams ( debate team, academics triathlon team, and another team that i can't bring myself to remember, but it wasn't a mainstream team) who all won their respective events as well, including the debate team which won the universities first EVER 1st place debate prize. and these teams barely received any recognition.
again... just wrong
now, outcasts only date outcasts for basically the same reason( again, this is a generalization, i know there are exceptions). they can only talk to the other gender of the same cast as them, because that's all they feel they can talk to and build relationships. much of this has to do with self esteem, thinking that they simply can't talk to someone more popular because they think they are ugly, or stupid, or nerdy, or whatever. they think that its impossible.
THIS IS FUCKED UP
there, i said it. from the get go, we are categorizing people based on image, and not who they are. and from this we are limiting ourselves to who we talk to, who we become friends with(and stay friends with) and who we date. doesn't that sound.... really stupid?
all im really trying to say here is, don't judge people based on what you hear of them, or what their image is or their popularity. If your popular.. WHO CARES! talk to someone who isn't! it doesn't matter! they may become a great friend or even a boy/girlfriend, who cares way more about you than that other slug. and you know what, i bet you will make many more friends by doing this.
wow, that rant turned out to be a lot longer than i thought it was, i guess i still got some fight left in me. thats all for that subject though. today, i was walking out to the bus stop on the way to school and i saw some teenager, holding a baby, and smoking. that really made me think... whats happening to us? it really creeped me out.

thats all for now people. I got tonight to chill and recover from this sickness, then im off to school tomorrow to start work again. thank god for no homework, i would have done a shitty job on it tonight :P

So today is a pretty simple question... Do you believe that high school is the best years of our lives?
in my opinion, no. and for good reasons.
coming from my experience, high school has too many people pushing you in too many directions. what do you want to be? what university are you going to? blah blah blah... and the pressure is enormous in grade 12... this is where we make it or break it. also, theres way to much drama. whether it comes from friends, from relationships, from parents, teachers... everything seems to build drama. lastly, i believe that high school is a transition period from adolescence to adulthood. when your in high school, i think everyone thinks that they know more than they actually do. like they are some sort of prophet that knows all( theoretically speaking) and this cannot be true because when your in highschool, you have only been alive for less than 20 years... thats not nearly enough time or experience to know all. when one is an adult, they have lived long enough and have truly figured themselves out, they know who they are, they know where theyre going, and they learn to deal with their past maturely.
This is why I say, that Elementary School is the best years of our lives. there isnt too much drama, you know everyone because the schools are generally smaller, and you only have one teacher for the entire year with the same 30 classmates... so you get to know people more. everyone is more tightly knit. also, recess is another big reason for me, able to just take a 15 minute or 45 minute lunch break was the best thing to take a break from schoolwork and just have fun with your friends... lastly, elementary school for me anyways was a time to just have fun.. i didnt care what i was going to be, i didnt care if some bitch called me something i didnt like... i just cared about my friends, and i just wanted to have fun. and i did. i had alot of fun. im always going to miss elementary school dearly... high school (dont get me wrong im sure when im older i will miss it too) wasnt a great experience for me personally anyways...

Ok so today's song of the day is "Coming Undone" by Korn, a band Ive really grown to love and respect over the past few months(thanks to some friends). there are much better songs by Korn, but this one is still good... better than most actually. so here it is
again, i encourage people to compliment someone on something atleast once a day... it makes a huge difference and its a great way to make people feel better, to build their esteem and to make you feel good. who knows, you might get some compliments back for saying them!
Anyways, thats all for now. I got an english essay to revise after my english teacher ripped it apart.. though i think once the changes are made it will be 80%+ material (well lets hope so anyways)

Hey, this is gonna be a short one (Thats what she said). anyways, Ive been contemplating performing at coffee house at my school(like band night) for a while now and I think i might do it. Now im not in a band and as much as i would want to be, i don't think its going to happen. so its just going to be a solo act, me and my acoustic guitar playing "The Messenger" by Linkin Park. Its a really simple song, and Ive learned how to sing and play at the same time and I don't think im that bad anymore. i haven't done anything like this yet in high school, i figure go out of grade 12 kicking and screaming right? (that's what she said)

Good day everyone, welcome to my blog... I haven't done this before. I decided to start because one of my friends started and it seemed like a good venting source and I can just talk you know? Anyways. i guess ill just get started by telling you how my lifes going right now
and to sum it up
Not so great, but stranger things have happened
So, first off earlier this week I had 3 projects and 2 tests in a span of 3 days and I had to take a day off work(which my boss is pissed now). I didn't do to well on my Biology test... my Sociology test could have went better, and my English essay needs a lot of work this weekend... but it looks promising so far. Grade 12 is a bitch.
On top of that, i still need to do a ton of community hours for school, and I pulled something in my back when i was doing my regular workout.
and on top of that, the girl of my dreams(haha you know how highschool is), started dating another guy, and this was right after i finally built up the courage to even really talk to her. so that kind of sucks
But shit happens, right?
Well im sure things will pick up later... but for the time being lets just get next week over with. I have to work today, so this is all for now. I might post something later, i might not. who knows. this blog is really for me to just talk about things that are on my mind. call it interesting, call it boring. whatever, im not asking anyone to read it im just... talking you know? so thanks to anyone who did read this.
Oh right, before i go i had this idea to do a song of the day type of thing. where i name a song that ive been listening to today. (or album, whatever comes to mind)
So today's song of the day will be from my favourite band Linkin Park(whom ive been listening to since their debut album in 2000. and this song does come from their debut album Hybrid Theory. Its called In the End, and is also my favourite song from them(and possibly ever).
